The Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) at GSS Institute of Technology (GSSIT) offers a four-year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) program designed to develop competent mechanical engineers with strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, and practical expertise. The curriculum follows VTU guidelines and covers core areas such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, machine design, manufacturing, and robotics.
1
Experienced faculty focus on conceptual clarity, practical application, and problem-solving skills. Students participate in interactive classroom sessions, laboratory experiments, workshops, seminars, and industrial visits to bridge the gap between theory and real-world engineering challenges.
2
The department houses modern laboratories in areas such as Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Material Testing, Manufacturing, CAD/CAM, and Robotics. These labs provide hands-on experience with advanced instruments, simulation tools, and industry-standard equipment.
3
The department promotes research, innovation, and skill development in areas such as automation, renewable energy, robotics, and manufacturing technologies. Students are encouraged to undertake projects, internships, and industry collaborations to enhance practical skills and employability.
4
Graduates of the Mechanical Engineering program pursue careers in manufacturing, automotive, robotics, energy, design consultancy, government organizations, and higher studies. The program prepares students to meet the evolving demands of the mechanical engineering industry.
